I had the pleasure of watching Keely Cat-Wells pitch her seed-stage venture, Making Space, at the Techstars Economic Mobility Demo Day in December.

Instantly drawn to Keely's story and Making Space's mission, I believe this venture is truly one to watch this year.

At the age of 17, Keely was diagnosed with a disability—a condition that led her to experience job discrimination shortly after diagnosis. Motivated by this experience, Keely founded C Talent (which has since been acquired) and her newest venture, Making Space.

Making Space is a talent acquisition and learning platform dedicated to creating new pathways for employment for the disabled community. It offers employer-supported courses that help users navigate paths between education and/or employment, to provide them with the skills to advance their careers.

Disabled populations are consistently overlooked in talent acquisition. Excluding large and talented populations from job opportunities is discriminatory, and not supporting platforms that allow overlooked populations to grow is dangerous. Making Space is doing vital work to make career growth more accessible for disabled populations, all while educating those outside of these populations by emphasizing the magnitude of this issue.

Making Space is currently raising its seed round and looking for investors who share a passion for changing the future of the workplace.
